SHARE NOW

An assistant district attorney for one Central New York county has been suspended after being arrested Wednesday for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

WSYR television in Syracuse reports Oswego County ADA Thomas Christopher was involved in an accident on Chipman Lane in the town of Sandy Creek. Troopers say Christopher’s car hit a large rock, landed in a ditch and hit a culvert pipe. He’s then accused of leaving the scene.

The 65-year-old reportedly admitted to investigators he took excessive amounts of prescription medication prior to the accident. Due to having a prior conviction within the last ten years, Christopher was charged with felony driving while ability impaired by drugs. He resigned from the same position in 2018 following an arrest for DWI.
