A sophomore at an Onondaga County High School was killed Thursday morning after the car his sister was driving was involved in an accident.
State Police in Lafayette responded to the accident on State Route 91 in the town of Pompey just before 8 o’clock.
A preliminary investigation revealed that 17-year-old Gia Myers, from Jamesville, was operating a 2010 Hyundai Accent southbound when she lost control due to snow-covered roadway and entered the opposite lane striking a northbound 2022 Chevy Tahoe, driven by a Fabius woman.
The passenger of the 2010 Hyundai Accent, 15-year-old Gavin Myers, from Jamesville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gia Myers was transported to Upstate Hospital where she is listed in critical condition. Gia and Gavin both attended the Fabius-Pompey School District.
The investigation is continuing.
