Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office Warns of New Scam

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office is warning of a new scam.

The office says scammers are contacting people claiming that if they don’t pay $2,000 to the sheriff’s office, they will be arrested. Law enforcement is reminding the public that they never solicit funds over the phone or through email.

You’re advised never to share personal information or make any payments in situations like this and to verify any suspicious communications with the sheriff’s office through official contact information.
