The Onondaga County Republican Party has once again chosen to endorse John Lemondes for state assembly.
The party decided to support the incumbent on Friday evening at its convention in Syracuse. This is the third time he has been endorsed by the Onondaga County GOP since he first ran for office in 2020.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement and continued overwhelming support of the Onondaga County Republican Party for my re-election bid to serve another term in the New York State Assembly representing the residents of the 126th District,” Lemondes said in a statement. “Working together we will promote and elect more Republicans to federal, state, and county offices so that we can restore the prosperity, safety, liberty, and quality of life to all New Yorkers.”
Lemondes is looking to keep control of the 126th State Assembly District in November; he is being challenged by Democrat and Auburn School Board President Ian Phillips.
The 126th covers parts of Cayuga and Onondaga Counties.
