The New York State Association of Counties (NYSAC) is set to host its annual Legislative Conference in Albany County at the Crowne Plaza Monday through Wednesday. More than 800 attendees are expected to gather for the three-day training event.
Attendees will participate in 17 workshops designed to educate and inform county leaders and officials on issues including the rising costs of Medicaid, the Executive Budget Proposal, NY’s Master Plan on Aging, cybersecurity best practices, emergency communications and NextGen 9-1-1, and many more.
During the conference, county officials will have the opportunity to hear directly from New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli and Attorney General Letitia James on the state’s fiscal condition and how the proposed state budget could impact local government operations.
The event will also feature two plenary sessions. The first will provide an inside look at the global conflict through the eyes of a former CIA officer. The second will address the impact of artificial intelligence technology on government and society.
“For nearly 100 years, NYSAC has been fostering excellence in county government by providing county leaders with education and training on the issues facing local governments,” said NYSAC President Dan McCoy, the Albany County Executive. “Our annual Legislative Conference is the high point of our year, providing an unparalleled opportunity for county leaders to hear directly from state leaders and policy experts, as well as share ideas and best practices with each other.”
