Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways collective sold 1,433,262 packages of cookies and donated 21,434 to the Food Bank of Central New York, Food Bank of the Southern Tier, and regional food banks and pantries across the council’s footprint.
GSNYPENN serves Girl Scouts in grades K-12 across 26 counties: Allegany, Broome, Cayuga, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Ontario, Oswego, Otsego, St. Lawrence, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Wayne and Yates in New York and Bradford and Tioga in Pennsylvania.
Girl Scouts and their troops use cookie program earnings to power experiences during the member year—including community service projects, summer camp, outdoor adventures, travel, badge work, pursuing the highest awards, and more.
Through the cookie program, Girl Scouts gain financial literacy, practice entrepreneurship, and further strengthen leadership skills. This season saw a 12.5 percent decrease in cookie donations through the council’s Sweet Support Gift of Caring project.
