New York State has officially surpassed $1 billion in retail cannabis sales, marking a major milestone in the state’s commitment to building an equitable and sustainable cannabis industry. The state’s Office of Cannabis Management says this is a groundbreaking achievement and is planning on hosting an event in Albany on Tuesday honoring equity licensees, entrepreneurs, and businesses that have shaped the future of New York’s cannabis market.
Acting Executive Director Felicia A.B. Reid, lawmakers, and cannabis stakeholders will speak about this historic milestone and the impact of equitable cannabis policies.
That evening, the Empire State Plaza and the Alfred E. Smith Building will be illuminated in green, symbolizing the growth and success of New York’s cannabis industry.
