New York Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado announced Tuesday that he is ending his campaign for Governor of New York, citing a lack of a viable path forward.

In a statement, he emphasized his continued commitment to building a “more humane, affordable, and equitable state” and pledged to support Democrats in their efforts to oppose President Donald Trump and protect democracy.

He thanked his campaign team, volunteers, and supporters, noting their dedication and belief in the campaign’s vision. He also specifically recognized India Walton for joining the effort and sharing the campaign’s goals.

The Lieutenant Governor encouraged New Yorkers to stay engaged in the political process, stressing that “your voice matters, and its power extends well beyond any one campaign or any one politician.”

Delgado concluded by reflecting on the guiding principle of his political work: “To walk with purpose is to walk with love,” a philosophy he has sought to model both in his career and for his family. He affirmed that he will continue serving the people of New York in his role as Lieutenant Governor.
