New York has launched its first-ever veterans mobile outreach centers.
Three vehicles operated by the Department of Veteran Services are now capable of assisting veterans, service members, and their families at any location across the state. From the centers, Veterans Benefits Advisors will be able to help vets with such services as enrolling in healthcare, filing claims for benefits, receiving info on tax exemptions, and receiving their Fresh Connect checks for farmer’s markets.
The vehicles debuted at the New York State Fair on Thursday.
The centers will also participate in the New York State RV Show in Syracuse and the Veterans Day Parade in New York City.
