NY Court System Releases Annual Report

SHARE NOW

Chief Administrative Judge Joseph A. Zayas today announced the release of the New York State Unified Court System’s 2023 Annual Report, highlighting the Unified Court System’s activities and progress over the past year. The report has been submitted to the Governor and Legislature in accordance with New York State Judiciary Law.

The Unified Court System’s 2023 Annual Report tells the story, both in words and visuals, of New York’s Third Branch and its people, including its judges and non-judicial personnel, as well as the many New Yorkers who each year visit the State’s courthouses and courtrooms, whether as attorneys, litigants, witnesses, jurors, or court tour participants, among other visitors. This year’s report contains updates on numerous initiatives–from advances in courtroom technology and other operational improvements to reforms to help close the justice gap, to programs to foster a welcoming, bias-free environment and help build bridges between the courts and the communities they serve. The report also features profiles of the members comprising the New York State Courts’ new leadership team.

“Our goal is to demystify the Judicial Branch and offer a more personal and intimate view of the individuals who oversee the branch of government that so profoundly impacts the lives of our citizens,” explains Chief Administrative Judge Zayas. “But in keeping with Chief Judge Rowan Wilson’s ‘bottom-up’ rather than ‘top-down’ management style, throughout the report you will hear from ‘other voices,’ our talented, fascinating, and diverse workforce who keep the wheels of justice churning day in and day out.”
