New York Gas Prices Hold Steady

SHARE NOW

New York drivers are catching a small break at the pump today as AAA of Western and Central New York reports the average gas price is $3.17, down one cent from last Monday. One year ago, the New York average was $3.28.

According to AAA, the national average price for a gallon of gasoline is $3.10, down two cents from last Monday.

Easing oil costs and tepid domestic demand helped pump prices ease up on the pedal, shedding two cents since last week to $3.10. About halfway through the winter season, this is when motorists may see a few seasonal spikes at the pump.

According to the latest data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand increased from 8.08 million b/d last week to 8.30. Meanwhile, total domestic gasoline stocks rose from 245.9 million barrels to 248.9, while gasoline production decreased last week, averaging 9.2 million barrels daily.

This morning, oil prices range from $74 to $79 per barrel. For drivers who use diesel fuel, the national average price for diesel is $3.66, down 1 cent from last Monday. The New York average is $3.95, no change from last Monday
