Missing RIT Student Found Safe

SHARE NOW

The 22-year-old RIT student who went missing the week of Thanksgiving has been found and is safe.

13 WHAM reports Matthew Grant was found in Pennsylvania, about 300 miles away from the Henrietta campus, by search and rescue teams after his car was found by police on Tuesday.  Crews searched for several hours Wednesday and when Grant found out about the search himself, he went into a police station in Palmerton, Pennsylvania, and asked if he could make a phone call. Grant called his mom and said he was coming home.

Grant went missing on November 20th when he left his off-campus home. Last week, deputies discovered a video from Love’s Travel Plaza in Junius that showed Grant at the gas station on the same day. Deputies said he was alone at the time and did not appear to be in any type of danger.
