A Livingston County man is on his way to prison for driving eight hours to Virginia in 2023 to have sex with a 14-year-old girl he met on Twitter.
27-year-old Derrick Loi, of Lakeville, pleaded guilty in March to coercion and enticement charges. 13 WHAM reports Loi was sentenced by a federal judge in Virginia to 25 years in prison.
Loi admitted to agreeing to pay the teen $300 to have sex with him and provide him with sexually explicit photos. They also agreed Loi would become the victim’s “sugar daddy” and get unlimited access to sexually explicit content from the victim for a weekly and monthly fee. After sending the victim a payment in May, prosecutors said Loi began discussing plans to travel to Lynchburg, Virginia to meet the 14-year-old for sex, which he intended to film.
Upon Foi’s arrival in Lynchburg in late February, he was questioned by a police officer, who found Loi had on him sex toys, morning-after-pills, and a bottle of vodka, all items he told the teen he would bring for her.
