The ongoing conflict in the Middle East is forcing prices at the gas pump to go up. Prior to Monday evening’s ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran, AAA of Western and Central New York reported the New York State average as $3.21, up $0.10 from last Monday. One year ago, the New York State average was $3.58.
The national average price for a gallon of gasoline on Monday was $3.22, up eight cents from June 16th.
Diesel costs are also jumping. According to AAA Western and Central New York, drivers who use diesel fuel have seen the national average price for diesel rise to $3.68, up 16 cents from last Monday. The New York average is $3.92, up seven cents from last week.
