Authorities say a reported threat within the Wellsville Central School District has been fully investigated and addressed.
In a statement released Sunday night, the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation involved multiple agencies, including New York State Police, Wellsville Police, school administrators, the Allegany County Threat Assessment Group, and the sheriff’s office.
Officials confirmed that the individual responsible for the threat has been identified and that appropriate actions have been taken using all available resources.
Sheriff Scott Cicirello acknowledged concerns from parents but emphasized confidence in the outcome of the investigation.
“I understand parents have concerns, and justifiably so,” Cicirello said. “I am fully aware of every detail of this case.”
The sheriff also noted that he plans to send his own children to school as scheduled, signaling confidence in student safety moving forward.
Authorities did not release additional details about the nature of the threat.
