The death of an 8-month-old infant in Livingston County is under investigation.
Sheriff Thomas Dougherty says EMS responded to a home on Railroad Avenue in the town of Conesus last Saturday morning at 8:35 for the report of a child not breathing and possibly dead. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found the infant deceased. Family members told police they found the child dead and called 911.
The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene to investigate, which is ongoing with help from the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office. Sheriff Dougherty says there is no further information on the circumstances or cause of death at this time.
Livingston County EMS, Livonia EMS, and Livingston County Child Protective Services assisted at the scene along with the Livingston County Coroner’s Office.
