House Explodes in Madison County

A house exploded in Madison COunty Wednesday night, killing one person and seriously injuring another.

At around 6:40 p.m., Sheriff’s Deputies, State Police and the town of Lincoln Fire Department were dispatched by Madison County 911 to Burleson Road for a report of an explosion in the area. Upon arrival, those on scene found debris from a house that exploded. Crews began searching the debris, and two people were found entrapped. The adult male was airlifted by Mercy Flight and the adult woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Both victims lived at the home.

At this time, the cause of the explosion is under investigation.
