Broome County and Binghamton officials announced Friday that a homeless man has been indicted for arson and murder in connection with a fatal fire last month.

Authorities say 36-year-old Patrick Shea was arrested on March 13 at a Broome County home and is being held without bail.

The February 12 fire on Main Street killed firefighter John Gaudet when a wall collapsed on him and injured two others. Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set but have not disclosed details.

The investigation remains ongoing.
