An Oswego County man is facing multiple charges after state police say he assaulted a trooper and a sheriff’s deputy Monday afternoon.
Trooper Alicia Gorka and the deputy went to a residence in the town of Hannibal after receiving the report of a domestic incident. The complainant stated his son, James Stevens Junior, was acting erratic, punching holes in his walls, and grabbing his genitalia over his clothing.
When Stevens was informed he was under arrest, he struck the trooper and the deputy with his fists. He was then able to grab the deputy’s taser and drive stun the pair.
The deputy was able to regain control of his taser and deploy it against Stevens, who was subsequently taken into custody.
He was taken to jail in lieu of bail.
Stevens was charged with, Assault, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Menacing, Criminal Mischief, Resisting Arrest, and Sexual Abuse.
Both law enforcement members sustained drive stun marks and Trooper Gorka sustained a contusion to her face. Both were treated at Oswego Hospital and released.
