Your son or daughter may soon not be able to bring their smartphone with them to school.
Governor Kathy Hochul is considering a ban on smartphones in New York schools in an effort to keep children safe online from social media platforms and their impact on youth mental health. Hochul plans to introduce a bill later this year that would ban smartphones in schools.

The Governor is blaming social media companies for what she says is a “decline in youth mental health.”
