There is a slight increase in gas prices as we prepare for Independence Day.
According to AAA, the national average price for a gallon of gas is $3.49, up four cents from last Monday. One year ago, the price was $3.53.
In New York, the price rose one penny from last week now sitting at $3.59.
Diesel prices have remained steady. A gallon of diesel will cost you $4.25 in the Empire State showing no change from last week.
AAA estimates that 70.9 million people will travel over 50 miles from home for the holiday.
