Gas Prices Up Slightly Across NY

SHARE NOW

The New York State average for a gallon of gasoline is $3.71, up two cents from one week ago, and matching the average price for the same week one year ago. The national average price also dropped two pennies to $3.66 a gallon.

According to new data from the Energy Information Administration, gas demand fell slightly last week, meanwhile, total domestic gasoline stocks also decreased slightly. Lower demand and a drop in crude oil prices could push pump prices lower. According to AAA of Western and Central New York, domestic gasoline demand will pick back up as we get closer to Memorial Day weekend and the traditional start of summer driving season, which will likely come with an increase in prices at the pump.

Diesel prices remain relatively steady. The national average price for diesel is $4.00, down three cents from last Monday. The New York average is $4.40, no change from a week ago.
