The average price for a gallon of gasoline in New York State is holding steady. AAA of Western and Central New York reported Monday’s average is $3.63, up one penny from last Monday. A year ago, the New York State average was $3.68. The national average is also up one cent from last week to $3.52.

Diesel prices are relatively steady. The national average price for diesel is $3.86, up two cents from last Monday. The New York average is $4.24, no change from last Monday.

While the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline is up slightly from a week ago, there is little to no movement in the average price locally. The price of oil remains steady, trading in the low to mid $80s per barrel Monday morning. The latest data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) indicates a slight decrease in overall demand for gas, while the domestic stockpile of gas dipped fractionally. Hurricane Beryl had a limited impact on gasoline refining in the Gulf helping maintain price stability.
