Gasoline prices held steady at the national level while continuing to fall in New York, with the average for a gallon of regular down two cents from last week to $3.60. Oil prices have barely budged over the last seven days, trading in the upper $70s to low $80s per barrel Monday morning. According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gas demand rose slightly last week while total domestic gasoline stocks jumped up. Steady oil prices, tepid demand, and increasing supply are the formula for gas prices to keep falling as summer arrives.
