The New York State average for gas is $3.58, down two cents from last Monday. A year ago, the NYS average was $3.70.
According to AAA of Western and Central New York Gasoline prices held steady at the national level while continuing to fall in New York, with the average for a gallon of regular down two cents from last week to $3.58. Oil prices have risen slightly this week, trading in the low to mid $80s barrel Monday morning. Steady oil prices, tepid demand, and increasing supply are the formula for gas prices to keep falling as summer arrives.
Diesel prices are relatively steady. The national average price for diesel is $3.79, up two cents from last Monday. The New York average is $4.25, down one cent from last Monday.
