Gas prices dropped across New York for the second straight week.
According to AAA of Western and Central New York, the New York State average on Monday is $3.70, down two cents from one week ago. The national average dropped by three cents to $3.59 a gallon.
According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gas demand rose only slightly last week, while the overall supply of gasoline mostly stayed the same. Lackluster pre-Memorial Day demand and steady or falling oil prices could keep pump prices relatively flat ahead of the holiday weekend.
Diesel prices are moving down. The national average price for diesel is $3.90, down three cents from last Monday. The New York average is $4.36, down two cents from a week ago.
