The national average price for a gallon of gas has seen its largest one-week drop for 2024.
According to AAA, the national average is $3.53 per gallon, down six since from last Monday. One year ago, the national average was $3.56.
In the Empire State, the average price for a gallon of gas is $3.65, down two cents from last Monday. One year ago, the average was $3.70 per gallon.
AAA cites steady oil prices, hovering in the high $70s to low $80s, as the reason for the price reduction at the pump.
Diesel prices are also trending downward. The national average is $3.85 per gallon, down two cents from last Monday. In New York, the average price is $4.31 per gallon, down three cents from one week ago.
