New York gas prices continue to fall. According to AAA of Western and Central New York, the average on Monday is $3.20, down two cents from last Monday. One year ago, the state average was $3.75. The national average price for a gallon is $3.13
Although gas prices saw a brief uptick in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, they have resumed their decline at the national and local levels as the supply chain recovered last week. While tensions in the Middle East persist, oil prices are retreating as well. Monday morning oil was trading in the low $70s per barrel. According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gas demand rose slightly while total domestic stocks also increased slightly over the last week. The arrival of cheaper winter-blend gasoline is also taking pressure off pump prices.
For drivers who use diesel fuel, the national average price for diesel is $3.57, down two cents from last Monday. The New York average is $3.90, down two cents from last Monday
