Funeral arrangements have been announced for the Oswego County Sheriff’s Deputy killed Wednesday in a fatal car crash.

Deputy Cailee Campbell was responding to a call for assistance at 6:42a when she was involved in an accident at the intersection of County Route 176 and Rowlee Rd. She was taken to Oswego Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Upstate University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The sheriff’s office has announced that while calling hours will be private at the request of the family, a funeral service for the 33-year-old will be held at noon on Tuesday at Fulton Alliance Church, 1044 State Route 48, Fulton with a reception for family, friends, and Law Enforcement to follow.

“Deputy Campbell died doing what she loved, protecting and serving her community while trying to help someone in an emergency. We are deeply saddened by this loss to our agency. We pray for Cailee’s family, friends, and fellow officers and take comfort in coming together to honor, reflect, and mourn,” stated Oswego County Sheriff Don Hilton.
Campbell had served with the road patrol unit for 17 months. She had previously worked with the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office and graduated from the Oswego County Regional Police Police Academy in 2023.
Per the sheriff’s office, anyone with questions about refreshment donations is asked to contact the Dispatch Desk at 315-349-3411. Flowers and other memorial gifts can be arranged with Thomas J. Pirro Jr. Funeral Home at 315-451-9500. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Oswego County Deputies’ Association, in care of “Deputy Campbell’s Memorial Fund.”
