Frontier Airlines on Friday launched a new nonstop service from Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) directly to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). The service is scheduled to operate three times weekly. Friday’s inaugural flight departed SYR at 9:50 a.m. and arrived just after noon in ATL.
Travelers departing Syracuse on the inaugural flight were treated to a celebration at Gate 20 including decorations, baked goods, giveaways, and a water cannon salute. Frontier now operates nonstop flights to five destinations from SYR including Atlanta, GA; Denver, CO; Fort Myers, FL; Orlando, FL; and Raleigh-Durham, NC.
“We appreciate Frontier Airlines’ leadership team seeing value in expanding their footprint here in Syracuse,” said SRAA Executive Director Jason Terreri. “Atlanta is one of the top destinations for SYR travelers and we’re excited to increase nonstop connectivity to this key market.”
