A motorcycle accident Wednesday afternoon claimed the life of a Fort Drum soldier.
According to State Police, two motorcycles were traveling east on Interstate 781 in the Jefferson County town of Pamelia when one of the operators lost control after his front tire touched the rear tire of the other motorcycle and crashed into a guide rail. 26-year-old Cordell Dunning was pronounced dead at the scene.
The operator of the other motorcycle, 27-year-old Matheau Philibert, was not injured and tested negative at the scene for any alcohol or drug impairment.
The investigation is ongoing.
