A former teacher in Monroe County has been sentenced for his child pornography conviction.
Ian Milam was a math teacher at Cosgrove Middle School in Spencerport.
According to the US Attorney’s Office, on January 29, 2023, he created two Snapchat accounts – “matteckler” and “mikeywikey37.” He then used those accounts to pose as a 15-year-old boy and engage in sexually explicit conversations with girls between the ages of 11 and 15. In May 2023, the 37-year-old Pittsford man convinced a 12-year-old to take and send him nude pictures of herself.
Milam was sentenced to 14 years in prison on Friday.
