A former girls’ JV basketball and softball coach at Brockport High School, who admitted to having sexual contact with a student-athlete, was sentenced to six months in Monroe County Jail on Tuesday.
29-year-old Anne Collins pleaded guilty in late January to two counts of third-degree criminal sexual act. She also received 10 years of probation, an order of protection and is required to register as a sex offender upon her release from jail.
According to court papers, Collins was 22 years old, and the student was 15 years old and an athlete at the time of the incidents. Collins worked as a coach at Brockport from 2017 to 2022. She started work as a social worker at Monroe One BOCES in 2019 and did not return to the job last fall.
Police say the victim in this case came forward with the allegations in March of 2024, and the investigation determined that none of the criminal conduct took place on school property.
