All of the bridges that connect the United States to Canada, at Niagara Falls, have been closed after authorities say there was some sort of vehicle explosion on one of them. ABC News is reporting the FBI field office in Buffalo says it’s investigating after the blast on the American side of the Rainbow Bridge. No word on what caused the explosion, or if there are any injuries.

Governor Kathy Hochul released the following statement “I have been briefed on the situation that occurred at the Rainbow Bridge in Buffalo. At my direction, the New York State Police is actively working with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force to monitor all points of entry to New York. I am traveling to Buffalo to meet with law enforcement and emergency responders and will update New Yorkers when more information becomes available.”

The FBI also released a statement, “The FBI Buffalo Field Office is investigating a vehicle explosion at the Rainbow Bridge, a border crossing between the U.S. and Canada in Niagara Falls. The FBI is coordinating with our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners in this investigation. As this situation is very fluid, that’s all we can say at this time.”

The Rainbow Bridge connects the cities of Niagara Falls, USA, and Niagara Falls, Canada. The bridge is located less than a mile from the world-renowned waterfalls and offers views of the natural wonder.
