A tragedy over the weekend in Monroe County as police continued to search for the person or persons who killed an Irondequoit family and then set their home on fire.

On Saturday at 5:23 a.m., a 911 call came in for a house fire at 329 Knapp Avenue in Irondequoit. Irondequoit Police as well as personnel from the Irondequoit Fire Department, St. Paul Fire Department, the Point Pleasant Fire Department and Irondequoit Ambulance responded. The fire inside the home was quickly put out and brought under control. While searching the location, several people were located inside the home and found to be deceased. 30-year-old Fraime Ubaldo, 26-year-old Marangely Moreno-Santiago, 4-year-old Evangeline Ubaldo-Moreno, and 2-year-old Sebastian Ubaldo-Moreno were identified as the victims.

According to police, due to the condition of the bodies, it was readily apparent that this was going to be a homicide investigation. Crime Scene Technicians and investigators from the Irondequoit Police Department and the Monroe County Fire Bureau worked for almost two full days to process the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Irondequoit Police Department at (585) 336-6000 or if you wish to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers at (585) 423-9300.

Peer counselors were brought in immediately for the initial emergency responders and remain available for the coming days.
