A not guilty plea was made Tuesday in Monroe County Court by a former girls’ JV basketball and softball coach at Brockport High School who is accused of having sexual contact with a former student.

28-year-old Anne Collins, of Greece, was arraigned Tuesday on nine counts of criminal sexual act.

According to court papers, Collins was 22 years old and the student was 15 years old and an athlete at the time of the alleged incidents. Collins worked as a coach at Brockport from 2017 to 2022. She started work as a social worker at Monroe One BOCES in 2019 and did not return to the job last fall.

Police say the victim in this case came forward with the allegations in March and the investigation determined that none of the criminal conduct took place on school property.

Following her court appearance, Collins was sent to the Monroe County Jail in lieu of $40,000 bail.
