A 75-year-old Elmira man has died following a collision involving a bicycle and a motorhome-style vehicle in the Town of Horseheads.

According to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene at the intersection of Lake Road and Owens Street around 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

An investigation revealed that the bicyclist, identified as Timothy Maney, was traveling southbound on Lake Road on the shoulder when he suddenly entered the driving lane and was struck by a 2025 motorhome traveling in the same direction.

Maney suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Arnot Ogden Medical Center, where he later died. Authorities say Maney was found to be at fault, and no charges will be filed against the driver of the motorhome.
