A Chautauqua County jury took less than two hours to convict Hadi Matar of attempted murder for the 2022 stabbing of author Salman Rushdie at Chautauqua Institution.
Assistant Public Defender Andrew Brautigan admitted the video evidence made the defense challenging.
Matar was also convicted of assault for injuring another man on stage and faces up to 25 years in prison at his April sentencing.
