A visit to the city of Rochester is on Tuesday’s agenda of U.S. border czar Tom Homan.
Homan has been publicly stating he would come to Rochester since a traffic stop last March where members of the Rochester police department responded to a call for emergency backup from federal law enforcement. Rochester police responded, yet have faced backlash from city officials due to Rochester’s sanctuary city policies.
Homan is the invited guest of the Rochester Police Locust Club.
During Monday’s White House Press Briefing, Homan discussed his plans to visit the Flower City.
“Officers of Rochester PD responded to a call for emergency assistance from federal law enforcement officers. They responded, then they got disciplined,” Homan said. “I don’t think anybody can come up with one instance where an ICE agent or Border Patrol agent didn’t respond to emergency call for assistance to any letter of law enforcement agency. Cops need to help cops.”
