The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering a $5,000 reward for any information regarding the shooting of six people at MLK Park in the city of Rochester early Sunday morning.
When Rochester Police arrived on the scene around 2 a.m., they found a 33-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body. He was taken to a nearby hospital for the non-life-threatening wound.
Five additional victims were found and were also treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. These include two women, ages 25 and 20 and three men, ages 21, 18 and 17.
One man was taken into custody for allegedly fighting with officers as they attempted to disperse the crown. One officer suffered an injury as he and others attempted to take 38-year-old Joshua Sanchez into custody. He was charged with assault, resisting arrest, harassment and obstructing governmental administration. The injured officer was treated at a local hospital and released.
It’s believed the shooting was the result of an argument in which at least one person pulled out a gun and fired into the crowd.
