A Friendship man has been arrested following a shooting earlier this week.
On Tuesday, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation out of State Police Amity arrested 49-year-old Jonathan J. Johnson. He faces charges of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree reckless endangerment, and second-degree assault.
Authorities say the incident occurred on September 5 after an argument between Johnson and a 32-year-old man over rap music. During the dispute, Johnson fired a handgun, striking the victim in the leg. The injured man was treated at Jones Memorial Hospital.
Johnson was taken into custody by state troopers, processed at SP Amity, and transported to Allegany County Jail to await arraignment through the Centralized Arraignment Part Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
