Friday is World Blood Donor Day and the Red Cross is once again urgently seeking donations, especially from those donating platelets or those with type O blood.
According to the Red Cross, the last several weeks have seen a “drastic shortfall” in donations. Due to summer travel and severe weather conditions, the organization believes fewer people will have time to donate this season.
Anyone donating from now through the end of the month will receive a $15 e-gift card to a merchant of their choice. A list of upcoming blood drives can be found below.
