DRUMROLL, PLEASE: On Day Thirteen of The Great New York State Fair, 78,226 fairgoers enjoyed a gorgeous Labor Day, with comfortable temperatures, reasonable crowds, and a stunning fireworks show by Majestic Fireworks (sponsored by Tessy Plastics). This brings our total attendance for the 2025 Great New York State Fair to 925,989 guests. We saw fans for some of the most-attended concerts ever, including Jessie Murph (~49,000) – with the second-largest concert in The Fair’s history – and Shaggy (~48,000), rounding out the top three concerts ever (Lainey Wilson’s 2023 appearance still sits in the top spot). Despite an unseasonably cold and rainy start, steady attendance in week two with a strong closing weekend provided a solid finish to this year’s event.
YOU BUTTER BELIEVE IT: After its two-week display at the Great New York State Fair, the 57th Annual Butter Sculpture will be dismantled and recycled into renewable energy at Noblehurst Farms in Livingston County. This sustainable initiative, now in its 10th year, transforms inedible butter into energy that powers local homes, highlighting dairy farmers’ commitment to environmental stewardship and community support. The 800 pounds of butter that went into creating this year’s sculpture, “Dairy For Good: Nourish. Grow. Thrive.,” which celebrated the joy and nourishment dairy provides at every stage of life — and was inspired by the 125th Anniversary of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz book, will begin its next phase on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Dairy Products Building.
FAIREST OF ALL: With so much to see and numerous exhibits to explore during The Fair’s 13-day run, it’s easy to miss some highlights. If you didn’t get a chance to catch a competition, visit a particular building, or see a show, don’t worry—you can browse thousands of photos on The Fair’s Flickr page.
