A 20-year-old man was hospitalized in Rochester on Sunday after being shot inside his home on the city’s north side, according to authorities.
Rochester police responded to a home near Rocket and Dorset streets after a ShotSpotter alert indicated gunfire in the area. While officers were en route, 911 callers reported that someone inside the residence had been shot.
Police said the home, occupied by four people at the time, was struck multiple times from outside. The victim was hit at least once in the upper body and was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
A section of Rocket Street was temporarily closed during the investigation but has since reopened. The shooting is still under investigation by local police.
