A first year student at Onondaga Community College has received a scholarship to continue her education in the field of criminal justice.
Sheriff Toby Shelley presented Daniela Arevalo-Leyva with a $500 New York Sheriffs’ Institute scholarship on Wednesday. She was recommended for the award by her professors due to her leadership and dedication to public safety.
Upon graduation, Arevalo-Leyva plans to enter the law enforcement sector to serve and protect her community.
