A 19-year-old from Elmira is facing felony charges following a child exploitation investigation conducted by State Police.
On April 11th, 2024, State Police in Horseheads received a Cyber Tipline from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reporting the possession of child abuse material. On May 3rd, a search warrant was executed on Pennsylvania Avenue in Southport as part of an ongoing child exploitation investigation, and numerous devices were seized for forensic examination.
Following the analysis, investigators determined that Child Sexual Abuse Material was present on a seized device possessed by 19-year-old Hayden Denkenberger, of Elmira. Late last week, Denkenberger was arrested on charges of promoting and possessing a sexual performance by a child.
Following his arrest, Denkenberger was sent to Chemung County Jail in lieu of bail.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
