
Syracuse and Central New York will next month see the first legal marijuana shop open in Armory Square.
Syracuse dot com reports “Flynnstone” be the first legal recreational marijuana shop, or dispensary, in Central New York, and possibly the largest operating anywhere in the state. Owner Mike Flynn, who also owns a Syracuse roofing company, has already spent $3-million dollars getting the three-story store ready to open. He also working with the city on planning a block party to celebrate the opening.
The state awarded 50 new marijuana licenses yesterday bringing the total to 215 issued so far, but only 10 have opened including one in Ithaca.
The Cayuga Indian Nation has been selling marijuana in Seneca Falls and Union Springs for the past 2-and-a-half years without a state license.
