The federal government is trying to help the Village of Cazenovia with the recent closure of Cazenovia College and the financial impact it will have on the Madison County community.

On Monday, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced 166-THOUSAND dollars in federal funding from the Economic Development Administration to support strategic planning for the village. The funding is designed to help fund a comprehensive market analysis, needs assessment, economic feasibility study and marketing strategy to help create jobs and diversify the local economy.

“This vital investment by the EDA will help ensure that the Cazenovia community is able to capitalize on economic development opportunities and will help create new jobs for the area,” said Senator Gillibrand. “I will keep fighting to ensure that New York communities receive the federal funding they need to prosper.”

Cazenovia College announced last December it would not enroll any additional students following the Spring 23 semester due to “financial challenges.”
