A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after police say he was caught on video earlier this week stomping on the Israeli flags at the Jewish Community Center in DeWitt.
After police released the video to the public, they received a number of tips on the teenager’s identity. NewsChannel 9 in Syracuse reports the teen was brought in for questioning with his guardian and admitted to damaging the flags and cited anger over the current conflict in the Middle East as his motive.
The 14-year-old, who was not identified due to his age, was charged with criminal mischief as a hate crime and will appear in Family Court.
