A 13-year-old has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the shooting death of a 16-year-old in Syracuse Monday.
Syracuse Police responded to a home in the 300 block of Herbert Street Monday morning for the report of a person being shot. WSYR television reports police found 16-year-old Dostdar Ali Khel suffering from a gunshot wound. Ali Khel was later pronounced dead.
In addition to manslaughter, the unidentified 13-year-old, who police say fled the scene of the shooting, was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
He was taken to a local juvenile detention center to await arraignment.
